Monday's poem

Life is just better when you read more poetry. I have a few favorites that sit on my desk, poems I reread when I feel the need to be with them again. Today, I needed to be close to this one, by Marie Howe. I love this poem so much. From her collection of the same name, the book and this poem are about the death of her brother. And what it means to be alive.

Hi Sabrina!

Thanks for sharing that poem. It is relatable because I had lost my brother tragically in 2014. He went missing and the next day I found him deceased in a ditch face first in ditch full of water. (Sorry if that was too graphic) Then I had to call my family and tell them the bad news. That was a hard time.

I noticed you had "liked" my portrait of him on my IG art account. Thank you for that.

Blessings♥️🙏,

Chris

Happy Monday! Marie's poem is thought provoking - in the face of such a loss, how we feel as the ones left behind, being alive - thank you for posting it today x
